Voice Over Coaching with Laura
Why work with Laura? Besides that she has gotten her students’ demos One Voice Awards nominations, Laura has built a huge name for herself in the voice over community, working with a vast client list that ranges from Disney to Gap to Walmart. Her voice over coaching bookings span voice over genres and industries, and when she works with other talents, she teaches you how to give your clients the reads that book too. Laura has a uniquely enthusiastic and warm personality. If you respond well to positive reinforcement and need encouragement and evidence-based guidance, then Laura is the right coach for you. Laura is upbeat and kind and tries hard to be helpful always.
Custom Voice Acting Curriculum
Whether you work with Laura one-on-one or in a small group, she individualizes her curriculum to meet your specific needs. With a Master of Arts degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, Laura brings her teaching savvy with her into the booth. She understands that we all have unique goals and individual needs, so she helps evaluate where her students are when they begin and sets achievable goals for their voice over skills. Some voice talents are new to the industry when they come to Laura. Others have had on-stage or on-camera experience, or perhaps have even dabbled in voiceover before. People also learn and improve at different rates. Moreover, industry trends are always shifting. Because of this, Laura creates a unique custom lesson for every single client each time they meet.
Training for Voice Over Business
While Laura is focused on working on the craft of voice over, she always keeps an eye toward business goals, and a student’s marketing agenda. Laura eagerly works on both voice over technique and the business of voiceover with her students. While some might separate work on voice over craft from building their business, Laura has found in her years as a full-time professional that the two are inextricably linked. As voice actors never have the luxury of separating art from business in VO, when Laura coaches she always keep that in mind. At portion of every single session is devoted to the business side of things, and just how much time is spent on this is based on an individual student’s goals.
Voice Over Equipment and Studio Set Up
For voice actors who are new to the voice over industry, Laura is always happy to help give guidance on studio set up. In addition to talking about gear and work flow, Laura makes suggestions based on her own experience and others she has worked with. Of greater significance, Laura’s students have access to her demo partners, the amazing video production team from All Systems GO AV. Dave Scott typically meets with Laura’s students to talk about great selection, effects stacks, and any other audio needs.
Group Voice Over Classes
While private lessons are fantastic for working on your reads and making sure that they are bookable and current, Laura and Dave often offer group classes as well. Why are group classes important in voice over? First, if takes away the fear of working and performing in front of others, which for many is an issue. As we often have live sessions for our clients in voice over, and they have lots of people from creative directors to those from inside the brand we are working for on these sessions, it is really important to be able to do reads in front of others. Next, we learn a lot from hearing what others do well and what does not work. It is really important to develop your ear, both when listening to your own work critically and to the work of others. A class is a great opportunity to do this. Lastly, when you work alone in a padded foam booth, it is really important to be able to meet others in your community. Taking a voice acting class is not only a great way to hone your skills, but it is a wonderful way to become a part of the voice over community and to meet others who share your passion.

” I most definitely highly recommend Laura Schreiber as a top-notch business voice over coach. I’ve been working with Laura for a few years on a variety of voice over fronts: business, performance training and demo preparation. Laura goes above and beyond for me as a student. She’s accessible, responsive, knowledgeable, well-connected, and on top of the trends because she’s so entrenched in multiple genres of the industry. She’s also proactive in our coaching relationship vs. some other coaches who are very passive in their approach to interacting with voice talent individually.”

“Laura is a FANTASTIC coach: she combines incredible organization, with exceptional creativity and care, and to top it all off more than a decade of experience in the industry. I really appreciated Laura’s care in devising a personalized plan for our coaching sessions. From HW, to handouts everything was beautifully thought out. After our second session I already had a new booking thanks to her help with my auditioning technique. She’s also always willing to answer additional questions in between sessions. As someone who’s worked with many many acting coaches I can say Laura is definitely worth it. You’ll want her on your side.”

“I am more than happy to provide a thorough testimonial for Laura Schreiber and her knowledgeable business partner, Dave Scott of All Systems Go AV. I was their student in the recent “Building Blocks of Voice Over” class and I can say without hesitation that it was a brilliant learning experience. They both have a wealth of industry experience to share (both on the talent and production side) in addition to being courteous, encouraging and consummate professionals. Laura’s insights in to the voiceover industry were invaluable and her feedback / constructive critiques of my reads were welcome. Dave’s knowledge of equipment, audio production needs, details on the recording process and suggestions for building out our own studios was vital as well. The combination of their teamwork gave me a solid jumpstart for my voiceover career and I can’t recommend them enough!”

“I connected with Laura via Voice123’s mentoring programme as she is a hugely talented voiceover artist with years of experience, having worked in such a wide range of genres. Laura’s advice ranged from audition technique to marketing to the technical side of things and was seriously helpful in getting me back on track after I’d had to take a a break during the first part of the pandemic.
